MTV’s Daria and Jane Get First Action Figures From Mondo

You’re standing on my neck, la la la la la…

Beavis and Butt-head, since their inception, have spawned a healthily huge quantity of figures and collectibles. Their spinoff show Daria? Less so. Stupidly simple is easier to sell — Daria and her BFF Jane weren’t similar clones, but the opposites of Beavis and Butt-head in every way. Quintessential high-school gals in the way B&B were quintessential high-school lads, they were smart where their counterparts were stupid, angsty rather than oblivious, creative rather than single-minded, and never, (almost) ever, liking stuff that’s cool. And while Beavis and Butt-head were latchkey kids with no signs of any parents around, Daria was constantly surrounded by needy, self-obsessed family. It was a different dynamic that didn’t catch on as easily and widely as “Huh huh, that sucks,” but Daria’s solo show retains a solid cult following.

Excuse Me. Excuse Me…

Now Mondo is giving the two besties their first-ever action figures. In the style of the company’s Rick and Morty line, they’re figures with limited articulation and lots of replaceable parts and accessories to customize your display. On Wednesday, April 17th, at noon central time, Mondo Shop will drop both the regular set and a limited edition of 1000 loaded with extra pieces.

Both sets include figures of Daria and Jane, with neutral and smiling heads for both. Daria’s removable glasses come in neutral or flame varieties, and she comes with neutral arms, crossed arms, and an arm interlocking with Jane’s. Jane also includes neutral arms and accessory-holding arms. Accessories include Jane’s camera, a boombox, and Mystic Spiral CD.

The limited edition set includes a classic Beavis and Butt-head style head and glasses for Daria, bad hair-dye head for Jane, accessory holding arms for Daria, flipping the bird arm for Jane, book, cow skull, and towel. Get a good look at them all in the images below.
