Edi Gathegi Playing Darwin in X-Men: First Class

Edi Gathegi, who played the vampire Laurent in Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon, is joining X-Men: First Class in the role of Darwin, reports Deadline New York. Darwin has the power of "reactive evolution," which allows him to adapt to any situation or environment.

He's joining a cast that includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Alice Eve, Kevin Bacon, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Caleb Landry Jones and Lucas Till. Matthew Vaughn will direct the 20th Century Fox film targeted for a June 3, 2011 release.

X-Men: First Class, following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

Darwin is bada**, but no one from Twilight should be allowed to work again.


Wait maybe since he's Darwin he can evolve some acting skills.

I kinda like Darwin, interesting to them use him. I want to see Morph. It would be cool if Bishop and Cable were in this somehow....well....maybe not in this film, I just want to see them on the big screen I think.
