New Line Takes History to Court TV

Variety reports that New Line has partnered with Court TV to help spread the word on A History of Violence, with Viggo Mortensen, through a two-hour block of primetime network programming tied to the movie’s theme of a double life.

Court TV’s programming staff chose an hourlong episode of “The Investigators” and two separate half-hour editions of “Forensic Files” to run from 8 to 10 p.m. on Sept. 22. All are thematically related to “A History of Violence”.

In addition to running 30-second “Violence” spots during the two hours, New Line will get tagged tie-ins (in which an announcer says at the break, “Brought to you by ‘A History of Violence’ “), in-program sponsorships (during which the bottom third of the screen is filled with a silent promo for the movie in the middle of “Forensic Files”) and 10 brief vignettes of “Violence” during commercial breaks.
