Drop Dead Diva’s April Bowlby has joined DC’s Titans as Elasti-Girl
April Bowlby (Drop Dead Diva) has been cast as Rita Farr, aka Elasti-Girl, on Titans, according to EW. Farr is an actress exposed to toxic gas that changes her cellular structure. She can expand and shrink her body and in the comics, ends up in The Doom Patrol. The live-action series, which will premiere on DC’s streaming service, will feature The Doom Patrol, according to DC Entertainment CCO Geoff Johns, who posted the title page for an upcoming episode with that title.
Titans stars Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as Dick Grayson/Robin, Teagan Croft (Home and Away) as Raven, Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as Koriand’r/Starfire, Alan Ritchson (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) & Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Hawk and Dove, Bruno Bichir as Dr. Niles Caulder, and Lindsey Gort as Police Detective Amy Rohrbach.
Titans comes from executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. In the action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. Fans can expect Titans to be a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever. The series will premiere on the DC streaming service when it launches later this year.
April Bowlby is known for playing Stacey Barrett on Drop Dead Diva, Kandi on Two and a Half Men, Meg in How I Met Your Mother and Rebecca in last season’s The Big Bang Theory. She will appear in Paramount Networks’ upcoming Heathers series. She will first appear in Titans Episode 5 “The Doom Patrol” and has potential to recur later in the season.
