The Full Krypton Trailer is Here!

After many months of anticipation, Syfy has released the full trailer for Krypton, offering an extended look at the upcoming series focusing on Superman’s home world centuries before his birth. Check out the Krypton trailer in the player below!

Speaking at the TCA today, however, the producers of Krypton noted that they no longer see it as a Superman “prequel” series and that they already have a seven- to eight-year plan in place for the series that may not follow (the very little) established lore of the alien world. The series is not connected to the likes of Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl, so don’t expect Tyler Hoechlin to fly in as Superman, but Krypton’s own version of the Man of Steel isn’t out of the question.

Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe, The Halcyon) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. The Seg-El name is both a nod to Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel and a reference to John Byrne’s 1980s miniseries, “The World of Krypton.” Cameron Cuffe is set to play Seg-El along with Georgina Campbell as Lyta Zod.

Krypton stars Cameron Cuffe, Georgina Campbell, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day, Aaron Pierre, Ian McElhinney, and Shaun SIpos.

Based on DC characters, Krypton is executive produced by David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight trilogy). Cameron Welsh (Ash vs Evil Dead) will serve as executive producer and showrunner.

Krypton will premiere Wednesday, March 21 on Syfy.
