Already featuring one of the most eclectic casts for any Hollywood feature, superhero-related or otherwise, Kenneth Branagh's Thor has found its Frigga in the form of "Lethal Weapon" and Ransom star Rene Russo.
For those who failed Norse Mythology in elementary school (or didn't think of just reading the Marvel Comics in order to get better grades in class), Frigga is Odin's wife, the Queen of Asgard and stepmother to The Mighty Thor! WOW! This "Thor" movie sure has a great cast! I hope it delivers, though. Even the Batman movies, the Burton/Schumacher ones, had great casts but failed to deliver. Come to thik of it, most superhero movies are like that. Report Abuse

I'm excited about this movie.
I think this movie is starting to show the world that comic book movies should be taken as seriously as any big budget film.
And with such high profile names both infront and behind the camera, it gives Marvel a serious opportunity at being seen as a major player in the movie industry.
With such big names it offers to draw a massive audience from outside the comic-fandom, which means Marvel can give us a true-to-source film that will seem fresh and powerful to the new (non-"geek") audience.
That is if Disney doesn't flinch. Which I think they showed us is possible with their Pirate's franchise.

They're going to have to animate this; a cast like this can't come cheap. I smell budget cuts, and at this rate, Mjolnir will be played by a cheap claw hammer from Ma & Pa Hardware. I guess they can go back to scratching the film to make visual effects too.
I'm kidding.
