Fox Developing Daredevil Reboot
And he won't be standing still...

In order to keep the movie rights to Marvel Comics' "Daredevil" under their belt, 20th Century Fox and New Regency are looking to develop a reboot of the sightless superhero with News Corp VP Peter Chernin producing and David Scarpa (The Day the Earth Stood Still) writing a script, according to Mike Fleming at Deadline Hollywood.
The original movie directed by Mark Steven Johnson and starring Ben Affleck in the title role (and his current wife Jennifer Garner as Elektra) was released almost exactly seven years ago and grossed $179.2 million worldwide. This probably shouldn't come as too big a surprise as there has been talk of some sort of reboot ever since Disney bought Marvel last year, but this is the first confirmation that one is being actively developed. Fox needs to forget about Daredevil and reboot the Fantastic Four with a new director and new stars. And stop wasting money on Wolverine II. The first one was dreadful. Report Abuse

The one thing I can honestly say I loved the best out of Daredevil was the echolocation sight and MCD as Kingpin. Shame this can't be part of the growing Marvel Universe though. Report Abuse

if anyone read the Frank Miller mini series, Daredevil: the Man without Fear, a few years back that was supposed to be the original movie, i'm pretty sure you'd agree that the reboot should be made with that script. this mark johnson daredevil movie was just crap. I'd welcome another Daredevil movie. Even though the first one had some cheese in it, it was still pretty dark and I enjoyed it very much. Hopefully they do a good job on this one. Report Abuse
