Daedalic Reveals a New Sneak Peek at The Lord of the Rings: Gollum

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is still a year away. Regardless, this isn’t stopping Daedalic Entertainment from releasing a new sneak peek to build hype for its upcoming release.

Daedalic’s latest preview for the game is noticeably different from the cinematic trailer that premiered online last summer. This time, fans get to see actual gameplay from Gollum’s highly-anticipated solo adventure. We don’t actually get any good looks at Gollum’s face. However, we do get to watch as he traverses the harsh landscape of Mordor as he explores the hostile country while Mount Doom towers ominously above him. It also looks like Gollum will be tangling with some of the region’s deadliest creatures, including giant spiders.

Originally, Daedalic intended to release The Lord of the Rings: Gollum sometime this year. But back in January, the developers announced that they were partnering with Naco as co-publishers on the game. As a result, it won’t be hitting stores until sometime in 2022. Players will be able to control Gollum in a new “story-driven” tale where different choices trigger a variety of outcomes. Story details are scarce. But judging by his dialogue, it will involve Gollum’s obsessive search for the missing One Ring.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows.
