‘Feeling Crazy’: X-Men ’97 Actor Wants to Join Live-Action MCU, But There’s a Big Catch

X-Men ’97 actor is eyeing a role in live-action MCU projects. However, there’s one major condition that might be stopping him.

A.J. LoCascio has lent his voice to the character of Gambit, aka Remy LeBeau, in the revival series X-Men ’97. @AJLoCascio recently took to X and wrote, “2000’s Josh Holloway would have been one hell of a Gambi,” sharing pictures of Holloway. Replying to this post, one X user, @RahneKallon, commented, “Actually, you should play Gambit in the MCU yourself, dude?”

To this, LoCascio replied, “SO flattered when folks say this. I hear this almost daily and it means so much to me. I would love any opportunity to keep playing my favorite Cajun.” The voice artist added, “If someone in MCU casting is feeling crazy… I’m with @CESDTalent.”

Although LoCascio has voiced Gambit in projects like X-Men ’97 and Marvel Rivals, he might not get the opportunity to play the role in the live-action films. MCU has already announced the casting for Gambit. Channing Tatum debuted as Gambit in the 2024 film Deadpool and Wolverine. Per Variety, Tatum would reportedly reprise the same role in Avengers: Doomsday.

Who is starring in the live-action X-Men MCU movie?

MCU recently introduced Sadie Sink as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Following that, at 2026 D23, Kevin Feige announced the cast for the X-Men reboot. Alongside Sink, Kit Connor is joining the team as Cyclops (Scott Summers), and Samara Weaving will take the role of Emma Frost. Christopher Abbott is coming in as Professor Charles Xavier. Inde Navarrette is joining the MCU as Rogue. The character of Storm will be played by Maya Boys, and Adam Driver will come in as Mister Sinister.

MCU already has two major projects lined up. While fans are waiting for Avengers: Doomsday to hit the screens on December 18, 2026, Avengers: Secret Wars will be released on December 17, 2027. Following that, the heavily hyped X-Men film is scheduled for a May 2028 release, per Forbes.
