Ariana Grande’s American Horror Story Future Gets Hopeful Update After Season 13 Exit

Ariana Grande still has a chance to make her American Horror Story debut despite her recent season 13 exit. Early on, it was announced that the singer had exited Ryan Murphy’s show. However, the co-creator recently gave a hopeful update about Grande’s role.

Sitting for an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Murphy addressed Grande’s departure from the show’s season 13 because of her Eternal Sunshine tour. However, he also shared that the Wicked star could be a part of another season.

“It was really, truly a scheduling conflict,” Murphy said. “Ariana is a big fan of horror. She did Scream Queens for me and loved the experience, and people love her in that show. So I will always work with her. I love her, and I support her. It was a very big swing, but I might bring that back for another season, per Ariana’s availability.”

The AHS executive producer said that when the time came to shoot the episode with Grande, she was unsure about “juggling the tour with this.” In response, the showrunner assured her that the singer’s role could be “pushed to another season.”

As of now, the American singer-actress has stated that she will be taking a break from public appearances after her Eternal Sunshine tour wraps. However, Murphy is already working on season 14 of the FX show in terms of “What’s the idea?” and “Who wants to be in it?”

American Horror Story Season 13 may not star Ariana Grande, but it does feature some big actors

Although Grande is not part of American Horror Story Season 13, the ensemble still includes other big names. Some of these actors are returning from earlier seasons to star in the thirteenth installment.

The returning ensemble includes Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Billie Lourd, Emma Roberts, Leslie Grossman, Kathy Bates, John Carroll Lynch, Mena Suvari, and Matt Fraser.

Moreover, Alex Consani, Paul Anthony Kelly, Berto Colón, and Joey Pollari were announced as new members of the franchise. Some of the returning cast members will reprise their previous roles in the new season while also taking on new roles.

American Horror Story season 13 will be released on September 24, 2026.
