Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 has officially arrived on Prime Video today. The new season of the animated TV series introduces major villains such as the Joker, the Riddler, Roxy Rocket, Scarecrow, and Mad Hatter.
The first season debuted in August 2024 and quickly climbed up the ranks of best DC animated releases on Batman. Its noir-inspired style, episodic storytelling, and fresh take on fighting crime in Gotham City had garnered a massive audience.
Now, two years later, season 2 makes its return with Bruce Wayne continuing his saga in protecting Gotham City from crimes and villains. The latest season also brings back the majority of the creative team behind the first chapter, including executive producers Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams, and Matt Reeves.
Hamish Linklater reprises his voice for Bruce Wayne/Batman in season 2. Other returning characters include Jamie Chung as Harley Quinn, Christina Ricci as Catwoman, Minnie Driver as Oswalda Cobblepot, Diedrich Bader as Harvey Dent, and Michelle C. Bonilla as Renee Montoya.
Further, at SDCC 2026, Matthew Needham was revealed to voice the Joker. Dave Franco is also coming back as Riddle from the Young Justice animated series. Wunmi Mosaku will portray Roxy Rocket.

Batman: Caped Crusader season 2 picks up after the events of the first season, with Batman continuing his battle on Gotham City’s evolving criminal underworld while facing new personal and professional challenges. According to the show’s description, Batman remains locked in his one-man crusade against a city overrun with corruption, but the stakes and threats facing him this season are noticeably heavier than what audiences saw in the last outing.
Season 1 received a great reception from both critics and audiences. As of writing, the season holds a 94% critics’ score from 71 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans can also explore and enjoy the series’ established noir-inspired detective storytelling with a fresh slate of villains from the DC Universe.
