Stranger Things Season 5 Star Injured Fan-Favorite Character During Action Scene

During a pivotal action scene in Stranger Things Season 5, Noah Schnapp accidentally injured one of his new co-stars.

What Stranger Things Season 5 actor got injured?

Schnapp recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote Stranger Things Season 5. During the interview, Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, spoke about his stunts during the action-packed season.

“I have a tendency to go overboard with the stunts this season,” Schapp told Fallon.

One of those stunts involved tackling Derek Turnbow, one of Season 5’s new additions, played by Jake Connelly. Derek instantly became a fan favorite over the course of the four episodes.

During one of their scenes, Will has to tackle Derek. Schnapp’s instructions were to run full force at Connelly and then stop halfway to avoid a collision. Unfortunately, Schnapp was fully committed and hit Connelly.

“I run, and I accidentally pinned him [Connelly] down to the ground,” Schnapp said about the incident. “He’s scraped. His whole leg was bleeding. It’s this little boy, and I’m like, ‘Oh, my God. Oh, my God. I can’t. I hurt him. Oh, my God.'”

Much to his surprise, Connelly had a positive attitude and compared his stuntwork to a famous action star.

“He [Connelly] rises out of the hay, and he’s like, ‘It’s OK, Mr. Noah. I feel like Tom Cruise doing my own stunts,'” Schnapp added.

The first four episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 are now streaming on Netflix. In its first five days, Stranger Things Season 5 garnered 59.6 million views, the biggest premiere for an English-language show in Netflix history.

The next three episodes will premiere on December 25, 2025. Then, the 125-minute finale will air on December 31, 2025. In addition to Netflix, the finale will screen in over 500 theaters across the United States and Canada.
