The Sandman Season 2 Trailer Previews Dream’s Final Journey in Netflix Series

Netflix has revealed the official trailer for The Sandman Season 2, the fantasy drama based on the DC Comics series by Neil Gaiman.

“After a fateful reunion with his family, Dream of the Endless (Tom Sturridge) must face one impossible decision after another as he attempts to save himself, his kingdom, and the waking world from the epic fallout of his past misdeeds,” the official synopsis reads. “To make amends, Dream must confront longtime friends and foes, gods, monsters, and mortals. But the path to forgiveness is full of unexpected twists and turns, and true absolution may cost Dream everything.”

Netflix teases that the second and final season of The Sandman will tell “Dream’s story arc in full to its thrilling conclusion.”

What happens in The Sandman Season 2 trailer?

The end is near in The Sandman Season 2. The trailer features the haunting visuals of Hell, as Dream prepares for a showdown with the underworld’s ruler, Lucifer Morningstar (Gwendoline Christie). Dream will do whatever it takes to keep The Dreaming alive, even if it kills him.

“Everyone loves a good story, but all stories come to an end,” Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) says in the trailer.

Season 2 will follow several comic storylines, including the Season of Mists, Brief Lives, The Kindly Ones, and The Sandman: Overture, collections. Additional single-issue stories implemented into this season are Tales in the Sand, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Song of Orpheus, Thermidor, The Tempest, and more.

The Sandman’s large ensemble includes Sturridge, Howell-Baptiste, Christie, Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Esmé Creed-Miles, Adrian Lester, Barry Sloane, Patton Oswalt, Vivienne Acheampong, Jenna Coleman, Ferdinand Kingsley, Stephen Fry, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Razane Jammal, Ruairi O’Connor, Freddie Fox, Clive Russell, Laurence O’Fuarain, Ann Skelly, Douglas Booth, Jack Gleeson, Indya Moore, Steve Coogan, and Boyd Holbrook.

Allan Heinberg is the showrunner and executive producer of The Sandman Season 2. Gaiman and David S. Goyer are also executive producers. Jamie Childs directs every episode this season.

The Sandman Volume 1 (episodes 1-6) streams on Netflix on July 3, 2025. Volume 2 (episodes 7-11) streams July 24. The special bonus episode premieres July 31.
