Foundation Season 2 Adds 10 New Cast Members, Reveals First Photo

The cast of Apple TV+’s Foundation is about to get a whole lot bigger. According to Deadline, 10 new actors have joined the cast of the show’s highly-anticipated second season. Additionally, the streaming service has released the first official image from the upcoming episodes.

The new photo (seen above) shows Jared Harris and Lee Pace back in their respective (and markedly different) wardrobes as Hari Seldon and Brother Day. Judging by their body language, their interactions are still fraught with conflict and tension. David S. Goyer is returning as Foundation’s showrunner after previously spearheading the first season with Josh Friedman. Apply TV+ announced the show’s season 2 renewal last fall.

Isabella Laughland will appear throughout the new season as Brother Constant, a “cheerfully confident claric” tasked with bringing the Church of the Galactic Spirit’s message to the galaxy’s Outer Reach. Kulvinder Ghir is playing Poly Verisof, the Church’s “whip-smart and sardonic” High Claric. Unfortunately, Verisof also happens to a “terrible drunk” who is “intelligent enough to see the path he’s on, but too cynical to change.”

Sandra Yi Sencindiver is assuming the role of Enjoiner Rue. A one-time courtesan to Cleon the 16th, Rue now serves as Queen Sareth’s “politically savvy” consigliere. The Queen will be played by Ella-Rae Smith. Dimitri Leonidas will star as master trader Hober Mallow, a man who is “summoned against his will” to serve a higher cause despite his “sarcastic personality and questionable morals.”

Meanwhile, Ben Daniels will appear as Bel Roise, the “last great general” of the Superliminal Fleet and Foundation’s would-be conqueror. Holt McCallany is embodying Warden Jaegger Fount, the protector of Terminus’ citizens who guards them against a variety of threats. Viewers can also look forward to meeting Mikael Persbrandt as The Warlord of Kalgan, the psychic-powered “monster of a man” who seeks to take over the galaxy. Rachel House is playing Tellem Bond, the leader of the Mentallics. Finally, rounding out the new additions is Nimrat Kaur as Yanna Seldon.

Apple TV+ hasn’t announced a premiere date for Foundation season 2. But it will likely return this year.
