This story happens many years before Geralt of Rivia, Jaskier the bard, and anybody tossing coins to monster slayers. 1200 years earlier, in fact. A world of Elves existed, and within it a blade was stolen from a nomadic tribe. Scian (Michelle Yeoh), the last survivor, seeks to regain it. Yeoh in Elven ears and strange markings dominates The Witcher: Blood Origin trailer. But in the end, it will not be her story, as larger events get set in motion.
The Blood Origin trailer just dropped online, after appearing on Netflix over the weekend following The Witcher season 2. The six-part miniseries’ lead character will be Sophie Brown’s Eile, a warrior who wants to become a traveling musician instead. But it’s Yeoh who grabs the most striking scenes so far.
