Doctor Who Season 13 Announces Title, Villains, Premiere Date

It’s going to be an extremely happy Halloween for Doctor Who fans. In keeping with a series that traditionally, apocryphally frightened English children so much that they watched while hiding behind the sofa, Doctor Who season 13 will premiere on Oct. 31. And it’ll bring a fair share of masked creatures, too. In a brief new teaser, the Doctor herself names off some of the many monsters arriving in the classic-style, eight-part cliffhanger story. Some more familiar than others. Take a look in the player below:

While that doesn’t reveal a whole lot, a new poster gives the season as a whole its title: Flux. Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill are joined by John Bishop and Jacob Anderson in this story.

It’s an appropriate title given that the series itself seems in, well, flux. With just this season and some specials left to go, Russell T. Davies will take over as showrunner next, with a new lead actor as-yet-uncast. Expect the traditional holiday special on New Year’s Day this time around.

What do you want to see from the 13th (with an asterisk) Doctor’s final season? Whom would you like to see take over the lead role? Tell us your thoughts in comments.
