Hulu Announces The Orville’s Season 3 Premiere Date

The crew of the USS Orville is gearing up for its next mission. Only this time, they’ll be exploring the vast reaches of streaming. After spending two years on Fox, The Orville is moving over to Hulu for its third season. And the platform has just announced that the new episodes, dubbed The Orville: New Horizons, will launch on March 10, 2022.

Hulu officially revealed the season premiere date in a new teaser video. The clip shows the empty bridge of the Orville as dialogue from its various crew members plays in the background. Near the end, the ship is bathed in a red light, hinting at the arrival of even more extraterrestrial threats when the series returns next spring. Check it out for yourself below.

The Orville’s move to Hulu was originally announced in 2019. Creator Seth MacFarlane is returning to headline the series as Captain Ed Mercer. Other fan-favorite cast members, including Adrienne Palicki (Kelly Grayson), Penny Johnson Jerald (Claire Finn), Scott Grimes (Gordon Malloy), and Peter Macon (Bortus) will be back as well. In the four years since its debut, the series has amassed a dedicated following. Its success also spawned a pair of comic book miniseries released by Dark Horse in 2019.
