Gotham’s Alex Morf Will Play Victor Zsasz in Batwoman Season 2

A new villain is ready to debut in the sophomore season of Batwoman. A recent report by EW indicates that actor Alex Morf will bring Victor Zsasz to life on the small screen next year. The official description of the character speaks of ″a charismatic, skilled hitman with high, unpredictable energy. He proudly carves tally marks onto his skin for every victim he kills.”

Morf already has several forays into comic book-related shows. Most recently, he even entered the Bat-universe as a gang leader named Sykes on Fox’s Gotham. Prior to that, he was John Healy in the freshman season of the Marvel’s Daredevil series that aired on Netflix. His credits also include roles in Mindhunter and Mr. Robot.

In the comics, Mr. Zsasz is one of the many serial killers who inhabit Gotham. He carves tally marks onto his skin for every “zombie” he kills, the name he gives to his victims. He first appeared in Batman: Shadow of the Bat #1 back in June 1992. Although he is not one of Batman’s best-known opponents, he faced the Caped Crusader many times.

The character has already been brought to life on the screen many times, but he has never been portrayed as the main super-villain. Actor Tim Booth played Zsasz in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, while Anthony Carrigan portrayed him on Gotham. Most recently, Chris Messina performed as Zsasz in Birds of Prey.

Batwoman season 2 will debut on The CW somewhere in 2021.
