Chloe Bennet Teases Lighter Tone in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Final Season

In just one more day, the last season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will kick-off, wrapping up things after a seven-season run. From a recent interview with TV Line, actress Chloe Bennet described Agent Daisy Johnson’s arc in the final 13 episodes as something fans have never seen before.

“This season she is a perfect hybrid of all the versions we have seen of her,” she said. “I feel like I’ve played so many versions of her within the show, because each season was so, so different, whether it was aesthetically or what she was going through and how much pain…. It’s not Skye Season 1 where she’s learning about this world. It’s not Daisy Season 2, where she coming to terms with discovering her powers. It’s not Daisy Season 3, where she’s coming to terms with the responsibility of being a superhero. It’s not Season 5, where she’s coming to terms with the idea that Coulson might not always be there, and it’s not Season 6, where she was her finding her own self after someone so important to her was gone.”

Bennet also revealed that the final season would have a lighter tone than the more recent ones.

“It was really, really exciting for the cast and the crew to get out of the stages and get out of the grey space hallways, because it does affect your mood,” she confessed. “You get to see all of the departments really do their thing and stretch themselves creatively, whether it was set dec or hair and makeup.”

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s final season will premiere on Wednesday, May 27 on ABC.
