Crisis on Infinite Earths Will Reference Michael Keaton’s Batman

Several stars from DC universe shows – past and present – are lined up for The CW’s Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover. Now it appears that another Batman will make a surprise cameo in the miniseries. Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne will be featured in the event, via a newspaper clipping.

A fan account named Arrowverse DC posted an image from the Crisis set. In it, Keaton is front and center on the cover of the Gotham City Gazette. It reads “WayneTech CEO – Bruce Wayne to Marry Socialite Selina Kyle;” which is a reference to Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman in Batman Returns. Check it out in the tweet below.

While it would have been cool if Keaton had reprised his role from Batman and Batman Returns, this is a nice nod to the past.

Earlier this summer, Burt Ward, who portrayed Robin in the 60’s Batman series, was confirmed. Brandon Routh will once again don a Man of Steel suit, just as he did in the 2006 film Superman Returns. Kevin Conroy will show up as well with his own variation of Bruce Wayne. And those are just three of the many stars ready to appear.

Crisis On Infinite Earths will premiere on December 8 with Supergirl. Two more episodes will follow on December 9 and 10 with Batwoman and The Flash. From there, the series concludes on January 14 with new episodes of Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
