The Boys Producers Promise a ‘Bigger’ and ‘Better’ Season 2

Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s subversive superhero comic, The Boys, has quickly become one of Amazon’s biggest hits. But according to executive producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the best is yet to come.

“They already have more resources for the second season. They’re adding more characters, the scope of the show organically grows as the show continues,” said Seth Rogen while speaking to Collider. “We just watched, actually, the first episode of the second season this week. It was a wonderful thing as producers. This is way better than I ever could’ve hoped it would be.”

Goldberg added that season two is “definitely better than the first season…Immediately, it just looks a bit better, feels bigger, the actors all know what they’re doing.”

Rogen noted that the cast’s familiarity with their roles will make the second season even better.

“With a show like The Boys, especially, where the tone is so unique, for the actors to be able to watch the show and to see like, ‘Oh, that’s what it is.’ It allows them to come back completely locked into it,” said Rogen.

The Boys’ second season doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but it will probably arrive in 2020. In the meantime, the first season is available on Amazon Prime.
