Star Trek: Discovery, Picard, and Lower Decks Beam Down To Comic-Con

San Diego Comic-Con is just a few weeks away, and CBS All-Access is going full warp-speed with its plans to promote all things Star Trek. It recently announced plans for the event, including a big panel and special collector’s items. The panel will  cover all of CBS’ Star Trek shows on Saturday, July 20, in Hall H, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. First up, Star Trek: Discovery’s executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Michelle Paradise and Heather Kadin will be on hand to talk about the new season, alongside guest star Tig Notaro, who portrays Chief Engineer Reno. Notaro will moderate that part of the panel.

The animated Star Trek: Lower Decks will follow, with co-creator and executive producer Mike McMahan and “surprise guests” providing an exclusive look at the new series. Finally Star Trek: Picard will wrap up the panel with Sir Patrick Stewart and various cast members. They’ll share a close look at the new show, which will premiere on CBS All Access later this year.

In addition to the panel, a special Star Trek Universe booth will also be on the convention floor. Fans will be able to check out the U.S.S. Discovery and experience an “immersive” transporter effect. There will also be meet and greets with various members of the Star Trek universe.

For those that aren’t able to attend San Diego Comic-Con, there will be a special exhibit to celebrate Picard’s return. It will open at the Michael J. Wolf Fine Arts Center on Thursday, July 18. It’s called Jean-Luc Picard: The First Duty, and it will feature original props, costumes and other items to celebrate his legacy. These include Starfleet outfits, a family album and much more.

CBS All Access is also bringing commemorative items, both on the show floor and at the arts center. These include special pins to commemorate the new shows, two of which can be seen below.
