Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones star John Rhys-Davies just found his next adventure alongside a familiar Hollywood name. The veteran actor leads a new intergenerational comedy that carries a surprising real-life connection to his co-star’s family.
John Rhys-Davies and Paris Brosnan lead the cast of Seniors
The first trailer has arrived for Seniors, a new intergenerational comedy-drama hitting theaters this fall. The film stars John Rhys-Davies, known for Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones, alongside Paris Brosnan. Meanwhile, Lance Clark directs the feature from a screenplay by Erica Leigh Dick.
In the film, Brosnan plays Ori Ingram, a troubled teenager and aspiring writer doing community service at a seniors’ residence. On the other hand, Rhys-Davies portrays Albert Vernon, a cantankerous wheelchair-bound resident and celebrated war correspondent with a Pulitzer. Eventually, the two characters strike a deal as Vernon agrees to mentor Ori.
Specifically, Vernon offers to help Ori with a month-long writing competition carrying a $25,000 prize. In return, Ori must dig up a safe the old man buried years ago. Ultimately, their unlikely bond forces both characters to confront pasts they have been running from.
Notably, Rhys-Davies previously starred alongside Brosnan’s father, Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 miniseries Noble House. He said, “Seniors is a celebration of the bonds that connect generations. Having known and encouraged Pierce Brosnan years ago, it was especially meaningful to now work alongside Paris.” He added, “That full-circle experience reflects the heart of this film.”
Beyond the two leads, the cast also includes Bethany Anne Lind, Eric Mendenhall, Sophia Echendu, and newcomer Tyler C. Toney. Lind plays Nadine Ingram, while Mendenhall takes on the role of Pastor Moore. Additionally, the film was shot on location in Huntington, Indiana.
Clark produced the film alongside Matt Webb for Forester Film. The movie runs one hour and 43 minutes. Seniors will release in select U.S. theaters on October 23, 2026.
