Avengers: Doomsday may have a surprise cameo that could have major implications for the MCU. A new claim suggests the unexpected appearance could set up something bigger.
Marvel Scooper @MyTimeToShineH shared a new update about recent filming and wrote on X, “So I just got more details on what they filmed with Olsen’s stunt double – it was for the post-credits scene of Avengers Doomsday. More details soon.”
The claim suggests Elizabeth Olsen could appear as Wanda Maximoff (also known as the Scarlet Witch). However, Marvel Studios has not confirmed her involvement in Avengers: Doomsday.
How Wanda’s history with the Avengers could make her return complicated
Wanda Maximoff’s relationship with the Avengers has changed dramatically over time. She initially opposed the team before turning against Ultron and joining its fight. Later, she became one of its strongest members.
Her connection to the team also became personal through Vision. Their relationship grew while Wanda struggled with the consequences of her powers. Vision’s death during the battle with Thanos became a major turning point for her character.
Wanda later created the Westview reality in WandaVision while dealing with that loss. She then pursued her children across alternate realities in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The film ended with her apparently destroying the Darkhold and being buried beneath Mount Wundagore.
So, that history makes her possible return more complicated than a simple appearance. Wanda has deep ties to the Avengers, Vision, and her children. Her past choices could also affect how other heroes respond to her.
Meanwhile, Avengers: Doomsday is bringing together heroes from several Marvel franchises. Robert Downey Jr. will play Doctor Doom, while the cast includes Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men characters. Joe and Anthony Russo have directed the film. Fans are waiting for its arrival in theaters on December 18, 2026.
Right now, Wanda’s reported appearance remains unconfirmed. If the claim turns out to be true, the post-credits scene could introduce her into Marvel’s next major chapter.
