The Batmobile takes a violent tumble in new The Batman Part II set footage. The video has sparked speculation about what could put Bruce Wayne in such a dangerous situation.
The footage was posted by user @hoeBread36 on X. In the post accompanying the footage of the Batmobile flipping over multiple times, they wrote, “Had taken this down, but the cats are already out of the bag and not much I can do about it. SPOILER WARNING FOR #THEBATMAN2.” Another close-up video from the set came from @ciaron97, who wrote, “Bruce might be cooked,” while speculating that the Dark Knight may have been involved in a disastrous maneuver.
Given how grounded Matt Reeves’ Batman Epic Crime Saga is compared to other depictions of the Dark Knight, there have been plenty of theories about what could have caused the Batmobile to flip so many times.
Could it be an accident caused by The Penguin? Or is it a ploy by Harvey Dent to catch the Bat? The context of the scene remains under wraps.
The Batman Part II continues Robert Pattinson’s Gotham story
Compared with previous films, The Batman Part II will place a greater focus on Bruce Wayne than on his alias. The film’s story follows the events of The Penguin, the spin-off series centered on Colin Farrell‘s character from the first movie.
The movie will take place in the winter following the flooding of Gotham, placing the sequel relatively soon after the events of its predecessor. The flooding also plays an important role in The Penguin.
The Batman Part II will explore the rot and corruption that has taken hold among Gotham’s elite. The film will also debut Gotham’s District Attorney, Harvey Dent, who could eventually become Batman’s iconic villain Two-Face.
Regarding the film, director Matt Reeves himself revealed, “There’s a lot of unrest, and there’s a lot of clamouring because of the revelations of what we find out at the end of the [first] movie. There’s unrest in the streets to say, ‘Well, how could this be?’ The idea that this corruption extends as deep as it extends.”
The film will see Robert Pattinson reprise his role as Batman, with familiar faces from the franchise, including Jeffrey Wright and Andy Serkis, returning. Joining the cast are Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, and Charles Dance.
The Batman Part II is scheduled for release on February 18, 2028.
