A wrecked Batmobile was spotted under the Kingston Bridge as production for the DC sequel continues, raising questions about Robert Pattinson’s Batman and the escalating dangers he could face. However, the set photos do not confirm that Bruce Wayne suffers a serious fate.
The new photos were shared on social media by fans who visited the filming location. @AFrazzledScot posted photos of the set and wrote, “A wrecked Batmobile under the Kingston Bridge ahead of filming continuing for The Batman Part 2 this week. There’s far more debris here now than when I went by a few days ago.”
Glasgow has once again been transformed into Gotham City for the sequel, with filming taking place across multiple street locations. The damaged vehicle appears connected to heavy action sequences staged across the city. Recent set footage reportedly showed the Batmobile being pursued by Gotham City Police Department vehicles before crashing through squad cars during an escape.
While DC Studios has not released official plot details, the cause of the Batmobile’s damage remains tightly guarded. Directed by Matt Reeves, the sequel will follow up on 2022’s The Batman, with Robert Pattinson returning as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The narrative is expected to explore a winter-set Gotham City still reeling from the catastrophic aftermath of the Riddler’s attack.
Scarlett Johansson’s casting adds a major new mystery to The Batman: Part II
Scarlett Johansson’s role has added another layer of mystery to the sequel. Reports have tied her to the role of Gilda Dent, wife of Gotham District Attorney Harvey Dent, played by Sebastian Stan. However, the character dynamics and storyline remain largely unconfirmed by Reeves or DC Studios, leaving her official role open to speculation.
Johansson’s mystery character could have an important connection to Batman’s story. Recent set photos have even sparked speculation after a woman was spotted inside the Batmobile, leading some fans to think it could be Johansson’s character.
The Batman: Part II will bring back Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál. The new additions include Johansson, Stan, Brian Tyree Henry, Sebastian Koch, and Charles Dance.
The Batman: Part II is currently scheduled to hit theaters on February 18, 2028.
