DC fans are suspicious of Sebastian Stan‘s character in The Batman Part II. The awaited second installment of 2022’s acclaimed and successful first part is being helmed by Matt Reeves.
There’s been a lot of buzz regarding Stan’s role in The Batman Part II. In a recently published interview, the actor revealed that he’s playing Harvey Dent. However, several fans believe he might be lying to hide the real details of his character. It was recently reported that he might be playing Batman villain Victor Zsasz. Plus, his new bald look also matched Victor Zsasz’s appearance.
One fan, named @Rohanjirale, expressed their wish for Stan to portray Zsasz and wrote, “Reeves won’t confirm anything till the teaser, but please god let him post Sebastian Stan as Victor Zsasz tonight”
Another fan, @ElvisKnight56, echoed similar sentiments and claimed that Stan is perhaps trying to mislead them about his character until the movie comes out. They wrote, “Lying, IMO. The whole cast is up in the air until the trailer, and then even that will likely have misdirects.”
One more user, named @FloHasReturned, took a hilarious dig at Stan’s response of him playing Harvey Dent. They wrote, “You guys remember when Barry Keoghan was announced as Stanley Merkel back when Part 1 was filming? Yeah, Barry was great as ‘Stanley Merkel'” This jab referred to Barry Keoghan’s cameo in the first entry where he actually played an early version of the Joker.
What do we definitely know about The Batman Part II so far?
The Batman Part II will bring back Robert Pattinson in the popular and titular role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Besides him, the ensemble cast will also feature Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Brian Tyree Henry (Dope Thief, Atlanta), and Charles Dance (Game of Thrones).
Similar to Sebastian Stan’s role, Scarlett Johansson’s involvement in The Batman Part II is also making waves lately. So far, it’s not been revealed who she might be playing.
However, recent rumors claim that the Jurassic World Rebirth actress may appear as Poison Ivy. Previously, she was also rumored to be playing Harvey Dent’s wife, Gilda Dent.
But again, fans should take all the unverified reports and claims with a grain of salt unless there comes an official update from DC Studios or Matt Reeves.
The Batman Part II will hit theaters on February 18, 2028.
