Pretty Little Liars‘ star Drew Van Acker‘s latest sci-fi mystery thriller, Orion, received a brand-new trailer and poster. The film had its world premiere at FilmQuest in 2025, where it secured 11 top nominations and ultimately won the Best Actor award for Van Acker and one for Best Visual Effects.
As per the official synopsis, Orion stars Drew Van Acker, best known for his roles in Pretty Little Liars and Devious Maids, in the titular role. Van Acker plays Apollo, an astronaut who returns from a catastrophic space mission with no memory of what happened. Andrew McCarthy plays a NASA interrogator tasked with uncovering the truth in the aftermath of the crash-landing events that killed Apollo’s crew, leaving him as the sole survivor.
The film also stars Night Teeth star Debby Ryan in a supporting role. The rest of the cast includes Karin Ann, Theodora Miranne, Daniel Bisla, Natalia Lesz, and Vayda Cronin.

What happens in Orion’s trailer?
The trailer wastes no time diving into the interrogation scene of Apollo and McCarthy’s character. Apollo cannot remember what happened and what led to the tragic events. That missing memory becomes the center of a tense interrogation. McCarthy’s NASA interrogator questions Apollo and helps him put all the pieces together to understand what happened during the deadly mission.
Apollo’s memory condition makes the investigation even more complex. While he portrays a version that makes him unable to remember anything, there is a possibility that he knows more than he is saying. The footage shows the film as a psychological chess match between Apollo and the interrogator. As questioning continues, the investigation gradually uncovers a dark mystery and hidden secrets behind the mission.
Known for directing Gaia and Breathing In, Jaco Bouwer helms the film. Orion will arrive in US theaters on October 2, 2026, distributed by Blue Harbor Entertainment.
