Neil Patrick Harris may have accidentally teased a major Star Wars announcement at D23 2026. Harris is hosting Disney Experiences’ Horizons: A Carousel of Progress showcase on Saturday, August 15, at the Honda Center.
The actor accidentally slipped that Star Wars-related news would be part of the showcase. While speaking about the event, Walt Disney Imagineering President Bruce Vaughn said, “The announcement is very secret, come back Saturday for that.” Harris then joked, “I probably shouldn’t have said that.”
Vaughn replied, “No, no, it’s all good. The lawyers are already moving. No. Honestly, it all starts tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you here.” Although he did not reveal exactly what Disney has planned, The Star Wars: Visions actor’s comment has given fans another reason to watch the event closely.
What Disney could reveal about Star Wars at D23
Harris didn’t say what Star Wars news might involve, but that has not stopped fans from speculating. One of the strongest possibilities is Star Wars: Starfighter, the upcoming film directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Gosling. The film is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on May 28, 2027, and fans have speculated that it could be one of the Star Wars projects featured at the event.
The film is set in an entirely new period of the Star Wars timeline, several years after The Rise of Skywalker. Disney could potentially share a first look or teaser of Starfighter, including behind-the-scenes details or additional casting information. With the film now in post-production, a promotional update could give fans a better idea.
Another possibility is Ahsoka Season 2. The Disney+ series wrapped filming on Season 2 in late 2025 and is currently in post-production, so it could potentially be teased. Since the information related to the series has been limited, D23 could provide Disney with an opportunity to give fans their first look.
