D23: Disney has just revealed a new look for its huge Spider-Man-themed expansion. The news about Disney developing this new Spider-Man-themed expansion was first announced at the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2023.
Recently, at the 2026 D23, a look at the upcoming Spider-Man-themed expansion at the Shanghai Disney Resort has reportedly been revealed. @DEADLINE shared the image from their official X handle, noting, “‘Spider-Man’- themed Land coming to Shanghai Disneyland | #D23.”
At the ongoing Disney fan event, it was also revealed that Shanghai Disneyland will soon have a signature coaster. The ride will be a part of the new Spider-Man-themed land in the Shanghai Disney Resort. The new addition will be a major Marvel attraction at the Shanghai Disney Resort.
The new themed land will feature a high-speed thrill coaster and will be located next to the Zootopia rides. The construction of the Spider-Man-themed expansion reportedly began in 2025.
What we know about the future of Spider-Man land at Shanghai Disneyland
The biggest attraction of the Spider-Man land will be the coaster ride. However, alongside the rides, the land will also have more to offer to its visitors. Marvel fans will also have access to Marvel-themed shops and restaurants.
Following the completion of construction of the upcoming Spider-Man-themed addition at the Shanghai Disney Resort, it will be the ninth themed land for the park. It will also turn out to be one of the park’s three major expansions.
Revealing details about the themed expansion, the official Instagram handle of Disney Parks posted back on May 19, 2025, “The brand-new land include the park’s first major Super Hero-themed attraction, a high-energy thrill coaster featuring Spider-Man, and feature Spider-Man and friends-themed shopping, food and beverage, and entertainment experiences that extend the story and invite guests into the Web-Slinger’s world.”
The 2026 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is happening from August 14 to 16 in Los Angeles.
