Marvel’s Disney+ TV Strategy Is Changing, But Not How MCU Fans Might Think — Rumor

Marvel‘s future strategy for Disney+ TV shows might not be what many fans believe. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige recently sparked concerns with his statement about the MCU content on the streaming platform.

Lately, several speculations and theories have suggested that Marvel may stop producing TV shows for Disney+ moving forward. These reports began surfacing online following Feige’s interview with Empire, where he emphasized quality over quantity. “A lot of it is a strategy we’ve talked about for a while: focusing on quality.”

However, it now appears that Marvel won’t completely stop making Disney+ TV shows, according to trusted insider Alex Perez. During a Q&A session for The Cosmic Circus, Perez claimed, citing his sources, that Marvel is trying to reduce the number of Disney+ TV projects but won’t eliminate them.

“Scaling down productions definitely, but straight up canceling TV show productions is not something that’s either cost-effective for Marvel or Disney.” Perez added, “It’s all a matter of putting quality over quantity.”

What Marvel & Disney+ shows have been announced and will be releasing soon?

The reports of Marvel trying to put fewer TV shows on Disney+ gained momentum after the recent cancellation of Wonder Man Season 2. Despite receiving critical acclaim, the TV show won’t continue beyond Season 1.

As for the upcoming Marvel projects on Disney+, the VisionQuest miniseries is set to premiere on October 14, 2026. It will see Paul Bettany reprise his role as Vision from the previous Disney+ TV show WandaVision. The cast also includes Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, James D’Arcy, Orla Brady, Emily Hampshire, and Ruaridh Mollica.

While there are no other officially announced MCU TV shows coming to Disney+ soon, the platform is reportedly expected to receive two major shows to kick off Phase. According to a rumor from reliable scooper Daniel Richtman, Marvel may release the Champions and Strange Academy TV shows on Disney+ following the release of Avengers: Secret Wars.

Champions may focus on already introduced characters such as Kate Bishop, Cassie Lang, Ms. Marvel, Wiccan, Speed, and Ironheart. As for Strange Academy, it’s expected to feature Benedict Wong’s character teaching the new magic-wielders at Kamar-Taj.

However, fans should take all the unverified reports and rumors with a grain of salt until Marvel shares an official update.
