Marvel just dropped one of the most jaw-dropping variant covers fans have seen in years. Mr. Garcin’s collage artwork for the upcoming Avengers #1 packs a stunning visual history of the team into a single image.
Mr. Garcin delivers a striking variant cover for the upcoming Avengers series
Marvel Comics unveiled a striking new variant cover by artist Mr. Garcin for Avengers #1 on Thursday. The cover arrives as part of Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto’s upcoming run on the series this November. The publisher revealed the artwork alongside several other variant covers in its latest announcement.

Mr. Garcin crafted the cover in his signature collage style, building the iconic Avengers logo from classic comic imagery. Black-and-white images of the original Avengers team fill the logo itself in densely layered detail. The all-new roster then surrounds the logo in vibrant full color, creating a bold contrast.
The colorful border features recognizable heroes including Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Storm, and Daredevil among others. These characters appear to form the new Avengers lineup debuting in the Zdarsky and Checchetto run. Marvel confirmed that Garcin’s cover will be a regular orderable variant rather than a limited exclusive.
The new Avengers series spins directly out of the events of Avengers: Armageddon. Writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Marco Checchetto helm the title as its new creative team. The debut issue will also be available through Marvel’s True Believers Blind Bags program.
Marvel first announced the new Avengers run during San Diego Comic-Con earlier this summer. Zdarsky brings extensive Marvel experience to the title, having previously written acclaimed runs on Daredevil. Checchetto is similarly well-known for his detailed artwork across multiple high-profile Marvel series.
The Avengers #1 variant cover by Mr. Garcin goes on sale November 4. Mr. Garcin has built a strong reputation for intricate collage artwork weaving together classic comic imagery. Fans can preorder the issue through their local comic shops ahead of its fall release.
