Disney+ will soon begin streaming an MCU series with a different release pattern from how most Marvel shows have generally come out on the platform. Wonder Man is one of the most highly anticipated TV projects of this year. Created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, the show is based on the comic book character of the same name created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Don Heck.
Wonder Man to release all episodes at the same time on Disney+
Wonder Man will debut on Disney+ on January 27, 2026, at 6 p.m. PT. All eight episodes of the show will become available together. Previously, Echo was the only live-action MCU series that had put out all of its episodes together on Disney+. Two Animated shows, Marvel Zombies and Eyes of Wakanda, did the same. Meanwhile, Ironheart released three episodes every week. There were also seasons of Marvel’s live-action Netflix shows, such as Daredevil and The Punisher, that debuted all their episodes together.
The official logline for Wonder Man reads, “Simon and Trevor, two actors at opposite ends of their careers, chase life-changing roles.” The cast includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams / Wonder Man, Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery, Arian Moayed as P. Cleary, and Zlatko Burić as Von Kovak. Additionally, X Mayo and Byron Bowers are also part of the series’ cast.
Wonder Man is different from most MCU TV shows in more ways than one. It’s a metafictional story that revolves around an actor who lives in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and wants to play a superhero. “We’re doing something that, tonally, feels much different than really any other Marvel show, or any other films,” Abdul-Mateen said during a November 2025 interview. “We’re doing something that’s fresh, and a bit tongue-in-cheek, a bit self-aware.”
The Ambulance star added that Wonder Man “is self-aware, without looking directly into the camera.” He elaborated, “There’ll be commentary about superhero fatigue and things like that, but to me, it’s just dressing. That’s not really the aim of the show. The focus of the show is about an actor’s journey. It’s about a journey of friendship.”
Wonder Man will be a part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
