Stranger Things Star’s New Video Draws Spider-Man Speculation

Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin’s recent video has led fans to speculate that he might be playing Miles Morales’ Spider-Man in the MCU. Despite being fan-cast as the superhero, there have been no updates regarding the character making his live-action debut yet. In the animated verse, Shameik Moore voices the webslinger in Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and its sequels.

Spider-Man fans think Caleb McLaughlin could be MCU’s Miles Morales

The 24-year-old actor, known for portraying the role of Lucas Sinclair in Stranger Things, recently posted videos of himself doing gymnastics stunts. This led to many fans in the comments to rally for him to play Miles Morales’ Spider-Man in a live-action project.

In the caption of his Instagram video, Caleb McLaughlin wrote, “Spinjutsu,” and fans see him effortlessly performing the stunts.

While many fans began sharing GIFs of Miles from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, a user wrote, “He’s practicing for Miles I rate it even though I wishhh.” Another user mentioned, “Bro is ready for Miles Morales holyyy.”

On the other hand, a fan compiled McLaughlin’s video with other similar clips of him in an Instagram reel, with the text on it being the actor’s dialogue from Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1, “I don’t believe in coincidences.” Thus, they seemingly suggested that McLaughlin is gearing up to play the role of Miles Morales.

Moreover, one fan on the reel commented, “He’s definitely auditioning to play Miles, he’s been wanting the role for sometime now.” Meanwhile, another Instagram user commented, “He is Miles Morales i just can’t prove it.”

A third fan also rallied for McLaughlin’s Stranger Things co-star Sadie Sink to play Gwen opposite him and wrote, “Caleb Miles and Sadie Gwen WHEN.” Notably, Sink has already joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will appear in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, her role has not been disclosed yet.

Interestingly, in December 2025, during an episode of How Well Do You Know the “Stranger Things” Cast?, Caleb McLaughlin stated that Miles Morales is a “dream role” for him. However, neither the actor nor Marvel Studios has confirmed any such development.
