Poison Ivy‘s design in Absolute Batman has been revealed ahead of the character’s debut in Scott Snyder’s comic book series. The flora-manipulating supervillain will play a major role in the upcoming issues #17 and #18. There is much anticipation among readers regarding how the comic will handle the character, considering its unique take on various members of The Dark Knight’s rogues gallery.
Absolute Batman’s Poison Ivy gets first look
Illustrator Björn Barends and East Coast Comics shared cover art showing Absolute Batman‘s take on Poison Ivy on Instagram. As seen in the photo below, the character has incredibly long hair with fringes, feather-shaped leaves around her neck and the top middle portion of her hair, two yellow feather-shaped leaves on her left breast, and a torso with intricate orange-colored designs in the middle and green-colored sides.
She also sports dark grey ankle and hand bracelets. Further, white feathers emerge from the bottom of the orange portion of her torso. The orange colored portion of her torso and the white feathers give a unique touch to the character’s appearance and make her distinct from her mainstream counterpart, whose appearance is predominantly green.
Meanwhile, her face and upper portions of her arms and legs have human skin color, while the lower portion has green plant skin with intricate patterns. Notably, her face has a tinge of green on the side of her forehead.
Guest artist Eric Canete will work with Scott Snyder on the two-part Poison Ivy story, which spans Issues #17 and #18. The official description for Issue #17 reads, “Absolute Poison Ivy sinks her teeth into Ark-M! Dr. Pamela Isley has been unleashed from the Ark-M facility with an unending hate and burning fire for revenge on Gotham City and those who put her in the belly of the beast.”
It continues, “When Batman hunts her down, he must survive a labyrinth of leveled horrors, one more gruesome after the next, as he tries to save the city from a monster it created” (via ComicBookMovie).
Meanwhile, Issue #18’s description reads, “After the explosive reveal ending last issue, and Batman continues to fight Poison Ivy’s mutated monsters and winds up uncovering an even more gruesome horror that has embedded itself in the city’s very foundations. All while the Joker’s machinations start to coalesce in a partnership with a new ally.”
Absolute Batman Issue #17 arrives on February 11, 2026, while Issue #18 hits store shelves on March 11, 2026. The publication began on October 9, 2024, and takes place in an alternate world where 24-year-old Bruce Wayne, a blue-collar civil engineer with a hulking appearance, moonlights as Batman.
