DC has found big success in 2025 with the DC All-In initiative. However, this was just the beginning. The coming year will see a number of changes in the Batman comics as DC All-In moves into Act II. Chief among these will be a former villain turned antihero returning to evil in a new role.

The past year has seen a number of changes to the status quo of Gotham City. With Vandal Savage having bought his way into power as the new Police Commissioner, Batman and his allies are once again outlaws. However, their efforts to deliver justice and expose the corruption of the civil government are about to hit a roadblock thanks to a former frenemy once again turned foe.
What Batman antihero is turning evil?
In an upcoming storyline, Poison Ivy will become the newest mayor of Gotham City. Unfortunately for Batman, she will not be sympathetic to his cause. Indeed, it is said that she will join forces with Vandal Savage and “escalate their war on the Bat‑Family.” This will begin in Batman #7 by Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiménez. It will then continue into the monthly Poison Ivy comic by G. Willow Wilson and Marcio Takara, starting with Poison Ivy #42.

The sudden face-heel turn from Poison Ivy is incredibly unexpected. While Ivy has always been a wild card, the past few years have seen her retreating from the world and working to quietly build a better one. She has also been much less combative and more inclined to work in secret. Her apparent sudden willingness to deal with humanity, much less in such a visible role, is a strange shift in attitude. It will be interesting to see what inspires her to take such an active stand against Batman.
