Daredevil Fans Are Confident Another Netflix Hero Will Be in Born Again

Daredevil fans have started speculating about the return of another Marvel Netflix hero, Luke Cage. This was after Luke Cage actor Mike Colter commented on an Instagram post from Krysten Ritter, who will reprise her role of Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. The integration of Ritter’s Jones and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil into the MCU has made many fans wonder if Colter’s Luke Cage and Finn Jones’ Iron Fist will get the same treatment.

Mike Colter’s comment on Daredevil post sparks Luke Cage’s return speculation

Jessica Jones actress Krysten Ritter recently shared a photo on Instagram, highlighting her return as the superhero and private investigator in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. She captioned the post, “First look! Guess who’s back!”

Mike Colter commented an eyes darting to the right emoji under the post. His comment has garnered 1,102 likes as of writing.

Colter’s comment also got a large number of replies from fans, many of whom expressed their wish for him to return as Luke Cage. “Manifesting your return!” one user replied. “LUKE you’re next!” another responded. Meanwhile, one fan wrote, “We want Jessica and Luke back!!” referencing the pair’s romantic history in Jessica Jones Season 1.

Colter first debuted as Luke Cage in the first season of Netflix’s Jessica Jones series, which was released in 2015. He later reprised his role in the character’s own series on the platform, which ran for two seasons between 2016 and 2018. Cage later starred in Netflix’s 2017 miniseries, The Defenders, alongside Ritter’s Jones, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, and Finn Jones’ Iron Fist.

The return of Mike Colter’s Luke Cage has not been confirmed by Marvel Studios. As such, it remains to be seen when and where the indestructible hero will show up again. However, Brad Winderbaum — Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation — said in an Entertainment Weekly interview that Marvel is “very much exploring” the possibility of bringing back Cage and Iron Fist.

Earlier this year, during a panel at the Indiana Comic Con, Colter addressed the possibility of returning to the role. He said he still had “hopes” for it, adding, “I don’t think about it anymore. I think there’s always time. I don’t think it’s impossible. Anything can happen” (via Collider).
