Ryan Colt Levy discussed the future of Chainsaw Man while celebrating the release of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc. The actor noted that nothing has been confirmed regarding Season 2.
He said any announcement would “likely be at Chainsaw Man’s panel during Jump Festa 2025 in late December.” Fans continue to speculate about what the next chapter could include. Viewers are eager to see how Denji’s story moves past the events of the Reze Arc film.
Ryan Colt Levy on how Chainsaw Man Season 2 will ‘break the internet’
Ryan Colt Levy told ScreenRant he believes the next arc “fits better as a season rather than a film,” adding that “the Reze movie took years to make — another one like that would be a long wait.”
He explained that “there’s a ton of fun, bizarre stuff ahead before things really drop off the deep end,” and teased that one scene involving “astronauts” would “break the internet.” He confirmed new characters appear in the material he is referencing and said, “If Reze is any indication, I trust MAPPA completely.”
Levy’s remarks align with the International Assassins Arc from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga, which contains one of the series’ most widely circulated panels. The storyline features major events and introduces characters readers have anticipated seeing adapted. His tease indicates Season 2 would not be a recut version of the Reze Arc film. It would instead feature original season-specific material.
Levy also discussed why MAPPA’s experimental style suits the source material. He said, “Fujimoto’s world demands it. The manga itself is kinetic and surreal — its covers alone are these psychedelic, emotional explosions.”
He added, “As Denji changes, so does the art — it’s fluid and alive.” Levy described the approach as a natural evolution of the character’s arc and highlighted how MAPPA reflects Denji’s shifting emotional landscape.
