Fans of the MonsterVerse got some good news today. A new report suggests that even more content is coming for the Godzilla-led franchise from Legendary Entertainment.
What’s the latest Godzilla update?
According to a new report from Daniel Richtman, a new MonsterVerse series is in development at Apple. It’s unclear exactly what the series will revolve around, but it’s a safe bet to imagine that both Godzilla and King Kong could likely appear in the project.
The MonsterVerse’s last project was 2024’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which saw Godzilla and King Kong team up to battle out other monster threats. The next movie from the MonsterVerse, Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, is set to release on March 26, 2027, and will be directed by Grant Sputore and star Kaitlyn Dever, Dan Stevens, Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Matthew Modine, Alcyia Debnam-Carey, and Sam Neill.
The reported new series will also join a blossoming world in the MonsterVerse’s television universe. The first TV show set in the MonsterVerse came with Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, which premiered in 2023. The series was renewed for a second season last year.
Plot details for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 remain under wraps at this time. The premiere date for the series’ new season has not yet been set.
It is known that Amber Midthunder has joined the cast of the new season and will portray a character named Isabel. The series’ cast further includes Sawai as Randa, Clemons as May, Watabe as Kentaro, Hira as Hiroshi Randa, Wyatt and Kurt Russell as Lee Shall, and more.
