Luke Cage MCU Return Seems Likely After Mike Colter’s New Comments

Luke Cage actor Mike Colter has just given fans the best possible update yet about his potential Marvel Cinematic Universe return as the fan-favorite superhero.

What did Mike Colter say about Luke Cage’s possible MCU return?

Agents of Fandom was in attendance at the recent Edmonton Expo, which featured a panel dedicated to Colter and his filmography. During the panel, Colter was asked if Luke Cage was going to return to the MCU anytime soon, which prompted the following comment from the actor: “I don’t know why people keep asking me this. There are no signs. It’s not like they’ve just recently revived one of the Marvel Netflix shows.”

Colter’s comment is brief, yet telling, with the actor seeming to indicate through his indirect mention of Daredevil: Born Again that the Disney+ continuation is a “sign” that Marvel is bringing back the Netflix characters. While a Luke Cage return remains unconfirmed at this time, Colter has been repeatedly teasing one for the past several months on his social media. Trusted scoopers Alex Perez and Daniel Richtman have also reported that Colter’s Luke Cage is coming back, with the former going so far as to state that his MCU return will happen in the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again.

Set to premiere on Disney+ in March 2026, Born Again Season 2 is already confirmed to feature the long-awaited MCU return of Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, a superhero who has close ties to Luke Cage both in the comics and in the Netflix series. With Charlie Cox’s Daredevil putting together an army to go up against Mayor Kingpin and his Anti-Vigilante Task Force, it makes sense that he might reach out to his former Defenders teammates, who are all based in and around New York City.

Until Colter’s MCU return is confirmed, fans can revisit both seasons of Luke Cage on Disney+.
