A new update on the upcoming Oswald the Lucky Rabbit show hints that Jon Favreau’s planned series will be much shorter then fans initially thought.
How many episodes is the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit show?
According to noted insider Daniel Richtman, the planned series about Oswald will only be three episodes. It’s unclear if the series will be presented more as a feature film broken up into three episodes or simply a miniseries-style show, but it seems like Favreau and Disney are choosing quality over quantity with the upcoming series.
The planned Disney+ series will be led by Ravi Cabot-Conyers, and will also star Ryder Allen, Mykal-Michelle Harris, Amy Sedaris, and Kathryn Hahn. The show was originally revealed earlier this year, with filming beginning just last month.
The planned Oswald the Lucky Rabbit TV series will be written and produced by Favreau for Disney+. The director, also known for Elf and Zathura: A Space Adventure, wrote and executive produced The Mandalorian and also served as an executive producer for The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
Favreau also directed Walt Disney Pictures’ live-action/photorealistically animated remake of The Jungle Book. He is the director behind the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu, scheduled for release in May 22, 2026. The film will see the return of Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin.
