Alan Sepinwall of Rolling Stone praised creator Noah Hawley and stated, “Hawley has taken a concept that has no business working for television and shaped it into something thrilling, strange, and surprising.”

Brandon Yu of The Wrap asserted, “Noah Hawley’s dazzlingly haunting epic is all about what exactly defines us as human.” Yu further added, “In Alien: Earth, it’s on our planet that the franchise’s mythos gets the most expansive and awe-inspiring treatment that previous films have always only gestured toward, in its narrative and visual scope.”

Writing for Decider, Meghan O’Keefe lauded the cinematography of Alien: Earth and stated that “the kills are horrifying.” She also added that the series “remembers that the best scares are always followed up by an uproarious gasp of laughter.”
