As Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans continue to wait for the release date of the reboot series, Sarah Michelle Gellar has shared a training update for the highly anticipated project. The Daytime Emmy winner recently took to social media to share a video of herself engaging in a workout routine, suggesting that she has already started preparing for the upcoming Buffy reboot.
Sarah Michelle Gellar hints she’s training for Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot series
On August 2, Sarah Michelle Gellar posted a snippet on her Instagram profile that saw her indulging in various physical exercises alongside her Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot co-star Ryan Kiera Armstrong.
In the clip, the 48-year-old actress performs a horde of resistance and muscle-building drills, all the while sharing some laughs with Armstrong. Gellar also added the caption, “Warrior 1 and 2 We don’t sweat … we sparkle,” alongside the post.
With Armstrong set to portray a younger vampire slayer alongside Gellar’s Buffy in the reboot, the latter’s training video indicates that the workout could most likely be for the forthcoming Hulu series.
The close dynamics seen between the two stars seem to extend beyond their professional lives, as evidenced by Gellar’s encouraging comments during the time of Armstrong’s casting. Talking about her audition for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, Gellar noted, “From the moment I saw Ryan’s audition, I knew there was only one girl that I wanted by my side. To have that kind of emotional intelligence and talent at such a young age is truly a gift. The bonus is that her smile lights up even the darkest room.”
Apart from Gellar and Armstrong, the Buffy reboot cast will also feature Faly Rakotohavana as Hugo, Ava Jean as Larkin, Sarah Bock as Gracie, Daniel di Tomasso as Abe, and Jack Cutmore-Scott as Mr. Burke. The show has yet to receive an official update regarding its premiere schedule.
