The Punisher Fans Think They’ve Found Who Is Playing Ma Gnucci

Marvel and The Punisher fans believe they have discovered who is portraying antagonist Ma Gnucci in the upcoming untitled Punisher special presentation. Interestingly, these speculations do not point to a single actor, but to multiple individuals. Notably, last month, we received a possible first glimpse at Ma Gnucci through photos from the set of the special.

Who is the actor playing The Punisher’s villain, Ma Gnucci?

As more set photos from the Punisher special presentation have begun to circulate, fans seem to think they have zeroed in on the actor playing Ma Gnucci on the project. Somewhat understandably, these guesses are diverse.

@GabiMG_News took to X (formerly Twitter) to post that they think, “That’s Judith Light playing Ma Gnucci in ‘The Punisher’ Special Presentation.” Notably, Light is a 76-year-old veteran actress who has played Angela Bower in the ABC sitcom Who’s the Boss?, Elizabeth Donnelly in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Claire Meade in Ugly Betty, Susan Carpenter-McMillan in Impeachment: American Crime Story, and Joan in Shining Vale.

Meanwhile, @WarlingHD is under the impression that Chloë Sevigny might be playing Ma Gnucci in the special. They posted, “Looks like Chloe Sevigny COULD be the actress portraying Ma Gnucci in ‘THE PUNISHER’ special presentation.”

@CinemaWireNews also seems to think that it could be Sevigny, though they also believe the actor might be Amanda Plummer or someone else entirely. “Who is playing Ma Gnucci in ‘THE PUNISHER’ Special Presentation? Chloë Sevigny? Amanda Plummer? Somebody else,” the post read.

Sevigny, 50, received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for 1999’s Boys Don’t Cry. She has also appeared in American Psycho, The Brown Bunny, Bloodline, and Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. On the other hand, Plummer, 68, has portrayed Honey Bunny in Pulp Fiction, Wiress in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and Captain Vadic in Star Trek: Picard.

At the time of this article’s composition, Marvel hasn’t officially announced who is playing Ma Gnucci in the special, which will likely debut on Disney+ in 2026.
