Update: The Fantastic Four First Steps Box Office Projections Have Increased

In good news for Marvel fans, The Fantastic Four: First Steps box office projections have been raised, putting it well within range to compete with Superman 2025. The increase is relatively small, but it shows rising confidence in the film’s opening weekend, which starts on July 25. Earlier this June, predictions for the movie’s sales were between $125 million and $136 million, but several reports now believe that the upper limit could be higher than previously expected.

What are the new Fantastic Four 2025 box office predictions?

New box office predictions for the upcoming Fantastic Four 2025 movie are now between $125 million and $155 million, with overall domestic sales sitting in a range from $277 million and $395 million. That’s about a 14% increase for its maximum projection.

These figures come from several tracking reports from Box Office Theory, one on June 13 and another on June 20. No specific reason for this increase has been given, but the site previously mentioned that the film’s first trailer had over 200 million views and believed that The Fantastic Four: First Steps would “take over IMAX and many premium screens during Superman’s third weekend.”

In fact, since Superman 2025’s opening weekend sales has been lowered to $135-$175 million, Fantastic Four 2025 has a chance to overtake its rival, which would be quite an upset. Both movies have been vying for the top spot this summer, with Fantastic Four having set a new single-day pre-sale record for Fandango this year — that is, until Superman overtook it later.

It should also be noted that even at the film’s lowest range for its opening weekend at $125 million, this would well exceed the same numbers for Thunderbolts* at $74 million and Captain America: Brave New World at $88 million. The report supports this further, saying that Fantastic Four 2025 still has “the highest initial interest indicators and preliminary sales of this year’s three MCU films.”
