Earlier, Krysten Ritter commented on her casting announcement and said, “I am so excited to bring back this iconic character. Without giving too much away… there’s much in store for Jessica Jones – this is going to be an incredible season” (via Deadline). She was seen wearing Etro sunglasses by Safilo Group during the recent June 16 shoot.
Season 2 is led by showrunner Dario Scardapane, who was also in charge of the reworked first season. The new episodes will continue the story of Matt Murdock, “a blind lawyer with heightened abilities,” as he fights injustice while former mob boss Wilson Fisk navigates political power in New York City.
In April 2025, Michael Gandolfini discussed his character Daniel Blake with Inverse, stating, “I don’t even know if he really knows that he’s a part of the problem.” He added that Fisk’s wrongdoings are “not even on his radar” until another character brings them to his notice. “That’s not important. What’s important is he wants to help New York; he wants to have a great life; he wants to have fun,” Gandolfini said, adding, “It’s really good drama because he’s reaping benefits, but you sort of can see him digging his own grave.”
The show’s cast includes Margarita Levieva, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Zabryna Guevara, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Ayelet Zurer, and Jon Bernthal. Season 2 will premiere in 2026 on Disney+.
