Ms. Marvel Season 2 Release Gets Disappointing Update From Red Dagger Actor

Actor Aramis Knight, who portrays Kareem / Red Dagger in the Disney+ and MCU series Ms. Marvel, believes that Season 2 of the show is unlikely to happen. The 25-year-old actor, whose new movie Karate Kid: Legends will release in US theaters tomorrow, discussed the future of his character and Ms. Marvel in a new interview.

Aramis Knight doesn’t think Ms. Marvel Season 2 will ever release

Knight said in a new interview with Screen Rant that fans had likely seen the last of Red Dagger, though he hoped that wasn’t the case. He also speculated that Ms. Marvel might not return with the sophomore season.

“I don’t think so,” Knight said, adding, “I mean it’s been a long time now, so I am not really sure. I mean I would love to. I was supposed to make appearances and other things but it didn’t end up working out and some logistical stuff and COVID stuff and I think also creative stuff. But I mean that was also an amazing show, but I dunno, I’m still waiting for the call to be honest.”

When reminded that Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel is currently recruiting for Young Avengers, Knight responded, “She’s definitely got my number on speed dial, that’s for sure.”

Ms. Marvel debuted on Disney+ on June 8, 2022, and aired for six episodes before concluding on July 13, 2022. Vellani then went on to appear in the 2023 MCU feature The Marvels. The aforementioned recruitment for Young Avengers takes place toward the end of the movie, where Kamala meets Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop.

Conversations about a potential second season have been around for a while. Filmmaker Adil El Arbi, who co-directed several episodes of the show, said in a September 2023 interview as part of The Playlist‘s The Discourse podcast that the status of Season 2 had been placed on hold until The Marvels. The movie ultimately had a disappointing run at the box office.
