The “My Adventures With” Universe is officially a go at DC Studios.
At a recent press event, DC heads James Gunn and Peter Safran announced three new animated television series: Starfire, DC Supower Powers, and My Adventures with Green Lantern. While Gunn and Safran didn’t reveal too much about any of the three shows at the time, Jake Wyatt, an executive producer on My Adventures with Green Lantern, confirmed shortly thereafter on social media what every fan was thinking: the Green Lantern series would exist in the same universe as Wyatt’s other DC series, My Adventures with Superman.
“We’re making a new show! Some of you had questions—the show WILL take place in the same timeline as My Adventures With Superman. Stoked to expand and explore that universe with my buddy [Stephanie Gonzaga]!” Wyatt wrote in a post on X.
What is My Adventures with Green Lantern about?
“My Adventures with Green Lantern will follow high school student Jessica Cruz, who has her life upended when a Green Lantern Power Ring falls from the sky and chooses Cruz to be its champion. Things get even worse when more debris from the Lanterns’ ancient space war arrives – along with their alien foes,” reads the official logline for the animated series.
Jessica Cruz is a relatively new addition to the Green Lantern mythos, first appearing in Justice League #31 in 2014. Created by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver, she is the first female human Green Lantern. While Cruz has appeared in other animated projects, like Justice League vs. the Fatal Five and Teen Titans Go!, My Adventures with Green Lantern will be the first animated project that features her as its lead character.
As for My Adventures with Superman, the animated series is currently in production on its third season. The serialized coming-of-age story follows a twenty-something Clark Kent (Jack Quaid) who along with the bright and driven Lois Lane (Alice Lee) and their best friend Jimmy Olsen (Ishmel Sahid) begin to discover who they are while working together as an investigative reporting team at the Daily Planet.
A release date window for My Adventures with Green Lantern has not yet been announced. In the meantime, DC fans can stream the first two seasons of My Adventures with Superman on Max.
