Amazon’s The Boys Spinoff Adds Three New Cast Members
Class is officially in session on Amazon Prime’s first live-action spinoff from The Boys. And now that production has started, the streaming service has announced three more additions to the show’s cast. Deadline brings word that Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi have all booked “high-profile recurring roles” on the upcoming series.
Judging by their character names, it sounds like Schwarzenegger and Pigossi are both playing new superheroes in the spinoff. Schwarzenegger will appear on the show as Golden Boy, who was previously mentioned in one of Vought’s “Seven on 7” broadcasts as a promising student at Goldolkin University, the college where young supes are trained to harness their powers. In The Boys comic book series, John Godolkin was the leader of the G-Men, a sprawling franchise of superhumans that parodied Marvel’s X-Men characters.
Meanwhile, Pigossi is playing another supe named Polarity. Details for this character previously leaked online last year. Back then, it was reported that Polarity was a Black sophomore whose father is a former supe who now acts as his son’s coach. However, the role has undergone some changes since then. Finally, Thomas will co-star as Dr. Cardosa. It’s not clear if this character has any powers of his own. But since Thomas is too old to play a college student, he’s likely a faculty member or a Vought scientist.
Schwarzenegger currently stars in HBO Max’s The Staircase, while Thomas recently appeared in The Tragedy of Macbeth. Pigossi is best known for his role in Netflix’s Invisible City. The new actors join a cast that already includes Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, and Shelley Conn.
Amazon hasn’t announced a title or a premiere date for The Boys spinoff. The flagship series will debut its third season on June 3.
