Swamp Thing Concept Artist Shares a Better Look at Floronic Man

There were plenty of reasons to lament Swamp Thing’s abrupt cancellation last year. However, viewers were probably most upset about not getting to see more of Floronic Man. Kevin Durand appeared throughout the show’s first and only season as Jason Woodrue; before he finally turned into his monstrous alter ego in a post-credits scene during the final episode. The producers clearly had every intention of making Floronic Man the primary antagonist in the second season. Unfortunately, the show’s premature ending kept that from happening.

Via Instagram, concept artist Jerad S. Marantz treated fans to another glimpse at Floronic Man in much better lighting. You can check it out for yourself below.

On Swamp Thing Jason Woodrue investigated the Marais swamp to develop a cure for his wife’s Alzheimer’s disease. His desperation eventually resulted in his arrest. However, this didn’t stop him from performing a last-ditch experiment on himself; which led to his gruesome transformation. Co-showrunner Gary Dauberman previously said that Swamp Thing season 2 would have adapted “more twisted horror tales” from the comics. It seems likely that Floronic Man would have been at the heart of those stories.
